Pathway to Blessing

12 Jan Pathway to Blessing

Every one of us is on a journey that we call, “Life”. Throughout this journey, we walk down many paths that lead us to a variety of specific destinations. Have you ever taken the time to stop and think where you are going and how you are going to get there? Are you walking on the path of truth, honor and righteousness? If not, I’m here to give you some tools to help re-direct your path so you may reach a better destination, the destination of: blessing.

You need to create a destination before you find your path.

Jeremiah 6:16 says,

” “Stand at the crossroads and look;
    ask for the ancient paths,
ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
    and you will find rest for your souls.
    But you said, ‘We will not walk in it.’

When looking at this passage in Jeremiah 6 and reverting to the original language it was written in, we notice something incredible.  The context of this scripture is actually written as a commandment. We are commanded to “stand at the crossroads” to “look and ask for the ancient paths”. It is important that we realize in order to reach a beautiful destination, we must be willing to stand firm in the path to reach that destination (and sometimes that path isn’t so beautiful).

If you are having troubles finding “the way” just remember that in John 14:6 Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life…” Jesus is the way! If we seek Him, we begin to see the pathway to blessing, righteousness, truth, and eternal life more clearly! Once you get on the right path and stand firm on it, you become a role model to those seeking the right path. Don’t give up – you never know who is watching!

There are four keys that can help you find the pathway to blessing. The first step you can take is to change your way of thinking. It is crucial that we have a shift in our perspective, thoughts and begin to seek the Father’s heart and vision, not only our lives but the lives of those around us. Second step is to deal with your feelings. Feelings are not facts. Don’t let your feelings be the captain of the ship on your path. I can guarantee you won’t get very far or reach the right destination. The third step is to make good choices and better decisions. When you begin to make the right choices and decisions, you begin to understand self-worth and accomplishment.

You don’t get somewhere by accident. Your thoughts, feelings, and actions lead you to your destination.

The last but not least step in finding the pathway to blessing is to take action. Don’t let your goals become far-fetched dreams. Don’t let your aspirations become regrets. Life is too short to not treat yourself with love and respect by putting yourself on the right path. I know it can be scary sometimes and maybe a bit uncomfortable, but walking in obedience to the call of God is the best and most rewarding decision I have ever made in my entire life. I encourage you all to do the same.

Pray this today: Lord Jesus, thank you for partnering with me in this journey called life. Thank you for the opportunity to live eternally with You someday. Help me stand firm on the path you have me on and help me have the boldness not too stray from it. Place people around me who can pour into my life with good counsel and guidance. I love you, Father. Amen.
